If you need bees and comb removed from a structure then call us and book the essential site consultation survey. This survey visit is the first step in an important process. This is a prerequisite that allows us to provide many benefits like the 3-15 year guarantee and fixed quote.

The essential site consultation survey ensures the safety of you, our team, your property, the public and of course the bees! The visit ensures we establish the correct type of access equipment needed to get to the area. If the work required is needed to be done at height – we do not work from ladders as this is illegal to do for our company and its dangerous due to the technicality of the bee removal process.

The essential site consultation survey ensures we have the correct type of materials and equipment at the start of the job so the bees are extracted efficiently and without long periods of disruption which is not good for the bees.

Have a look at our honeybee removal process to understand what happens at each stage of the removal.

Our survey will provide you with the following in a detailed report:

1.
Our survey findings
and recommended
solution options

2.
Recommended equipment and service to ensure you receive the full benefit of effective bee removal and prevention.

3.
Recommendations in compliance to related health and safety as well as legislation protecting our honeybees.

Can I ask a beekeeper to remove the bees for free?

Can I ask a beekeeper to remove the bees for free?

In this video, we will explain when you should ask a beekeeper to remove your bees and when other options may be more suitable.

We will also answer common questions like…
When is the right time to ask a beekeeper?
When might a beekeeper turn you down?
What are beekeepers interested in?
are beekeepers insured to do the work?

You can ask a beekeeper to remove the bees for free, but they will often turn you down if it is an established colony. A beekeeper is usually only interested in a swarm of bees and when the swarm is on a tree or on a hedge.

When the bees are in a building it becomes complicated and there are increased risks. Working at height requires scaffolding. There is a risk of damage to a property, a risk of falling. Beekeepers are not likely to have the experience required to take building fabric apart. They also do not know about the risks involved with asbestos. Finally, they are not insured to do the work should there be any damage to the property and should they get sued.

On the British Beekeepers Association website and on their swarm line they state that their members are not insured to break into the building fabric.

Are there free bee removal services?

Are there free bee removal services?

In this video, we will explain what free bee removal is and why it is free. We will also explain when it stops becoming free and you may have to start paying for it.

We will also answer common questions like…
Why are some bee removals free?
Why do I sometimes have to pay for bee removal?
What are the risks with free honeybee removal?
Where do I go to get free bee removal?
When is the best time of year to get free bee removal?

Here in the UK beekeepers are interested in removing swarms of bees free. There’s a saying:

In May a swarm of bees is worth a bale of hay,
in June they’re worth a silver spoon and
in July well just let them fly!

Identify Your Bee | Beegone

They’re not worth very much to a beekeeper around July because the honey flow period is coming to an end. If they’re honeybees and you’ve got a swarm you’re probably in luck to get them removed.

If you’ve got any other type of bee or a colony of honeybees in a chimney or a wall, the beekeeper is probably not going to want to help out with that because of the risks involved from an insurance perspective.

If you listen to the message on the phone line on the British Beekeepers Association and read their website, they say that their members are not insured to break the fabric of buildings to remove bees. There is a lot of risk involved and they usually don’t want the hassle.

Who is responsible for bee removal?

Who is responsible for bee removal?

In this video, we will explain who is responsible for bee removal for both residential and commercial properties.

We will also answer common questions like…
Is it the landowner responsible for the bee removal?
Is my landlord responsible to remove the bees?
Who is responsible to remove bees from offices?

If you are reading this or have watched the video, unfortunately, it’s probably going to be you or at least you’ll have some influence in the process.

You might be a tenant experiencing a problem with a bee issue in the chimney, roof or wall and they may even be coming into your house.

The straight answer to the question is, if the bees are on a landowners property, then it is the responsibility of the landowner to sort them out. If you are the property owner, then it is your responsibility, but if you are a tenant, your landlord is responsible, but please double-check your rental agreement and what is included.

If you’re an employer and have bees on your building and own the building, it would be your responsibility. Under UK employment law, you will need to sort out the issue because bees sting and obviously for the health and safety of your employees it’s going to be important to get the bee issue resolved.
