Our team recently completed a bee removal project involving a colony that had settled between the floorboards and carpet of a loft conversion. The bees were entering through the soffit and making their way into the floor cavity, posing a challenge in terms of access and safe removal. To address this, we began by carefully peeling back the carpet to expose the floorboards. Using a boroscope and an infrared camera, we located the remains of the colony within the void space. The bees had swarmed off, leaving only the honeycomb behind. We then removed a section of the floorboard to access the hive. Using specialised tools and a bee vac, we safely removed the honeycomb, ensuring the process was thorough and clean. The client opted for the removal-only option, so no additional bee-proofing measures were taken. This project showcased our ability to handle bee removals in confined spaces and residential settings, ensuring minimal disruption to the property and its occupants.
